Pixies at Alexandra Palace
This is the first time I've been to Ally Pally for a gig, and half the reason to go to the see the Pixies for the second time in as many weeks (having seen them at Lowlands festival) was to see a big gig at the palace.

The Futureheads were supporting as we entered the building and the sound was pretty damned bad. Once the Pixies came on however, and we moved forward into the middle of the room which had black drapes hung to help dampen the sound, the sound improved. The Pixies rocked out a lot more than at Lowlands, the sound was seriously loud - we were at the back of 7000 people and it was still very loud. That made for an excellent and full on concert. They marched out the tunes without much halting and no speaking to the crowd, dwelled on the end of some tunes and made some loud and devastating noises - an incredibly satisfying performance of near on 2 hours I'd guess.
(actually, thats the Futureheads on the picture, but who'd know...)
